How does the updated gain setting work?

I used my ASIAIR pro with the updated firmware last night, the new (unexplained?) gain setting defaulted to Global. What is the function intent? I set it for 139 which is what my asi1600mm pro cooled camera was set at but it apparently over wrote my camera gain setting and then set my gain for all exposures taken last night to 0. What is supposed to happen because it clearly didn’t work as intended.

Kerry just go into your camera settings and put it back to 139 and your global setting will be 139. When you do a session it will show your gain at the bottom of the screen as usual beside the imaging resolution. Easy way to verify!

Thank you for the informative reply, I will try that. Hopefully I can just let it default to global every time and it won't mess with my camera setting. Very glad to get your reminder to verify the camera gain setting at the bottom of the screen. I will begin to apply more of a "trust but verify" standard when using the asiair device. The lost hours of imaging time are clearly on me.

I can't find any practical reason or use for this added "feature" and the developers didn't seem to find it necessary to give instructions for using it or share the reason(s) for it.
