Is it possible to get an extra one of these? I'm happy to buy it, but haven't found it available separately.
Thanks very much in advance.
Did anyone ever reply to you? I need one too.
I use the tc40 tripod with the pe200 extension plus I also use a INNOREL RT90C tripod. They are interchangeable. Innorel sells a head plate only that works well. It is called a INNOREL RT90C mounting pan. I got it from Amazon. The best thing with Amazon is that it can be returned if it does not fully satisfy your requirement. I believe zwo coppied their design. Here is a pic with my SA mount on my AM5 tc40 tripod using the INNOREL RT90C mounting pan and one with my my bigger rig. Hope this helps.
When I just got AM5 a month ago I also needed that plate. So I used Innorel plate. It seemed to fit well in the PE200. But it was actually slightly rocking in certain directions under heavy load. I had a bunch of problems because of this - e.g. polar alignment change and image shift after meridian flip. So, no.. they are similar but not exactly the same. YMMV.
maxthebuilder mine fits very tight in the PE200. I only have the AM5 with a 20lb scope so it may depend on if you are using much more than that. The AM5 on the Innorel tripod is not as good a fit as it only has 1 lock knob compared to the PE200 or TC40 which has 3. With 3 lock knobs it should never rock in any direction unless you have not tightened them sufficiently… thats just mechanical design of 3 point contact. The best solution will always be the plate that sells with the tc40 by zwo as their supplier controls the tolerences when machined, but if they are not planning on offering it separately then this innorel silver disc is the next best thing. Both measure exactly the same at 84.7mm in diameter (mounting diameter) but have slightly different mounting holes and mounting profile shape for lockdown. Cheers!
Kevin_A maxthebuilder I actually reached out to ZWO and submitted a ticket. They allowed me to purchase the plate directly from them. So now I have an extra. What I am wondering now is I have a carbon fiber and AVX tripod. I have two telescopes I currently use the AM5 with and they are my small Radian Raptor 61 and my huge C11. I was considering buying a second tripod extension from ZWO so I could more easily "hot-swap" the AM5 between tripods using the same silver head plate. I would mount a tripod extension to both my carbon fiber and AVX tripod. That way when I want a smaller lighter setup I can use my carbon fiber tripod with my Raptor and then swap the AM5 head over to the AVX tripod when I want to use the C11. Do you think adding the pier extension would be an issue in terms of balancing/weight for the C11 setup?
