1jimalexander I've done everything you have suggested without success.
OK, there is another way to get to the privacy settings, see if your ASIAIR app is listed in there:
Launch iPoadOS Settings.
Scroll the left side of the window down to "Privacy & Security."
1) see if Location Services is available at the top of the Right pane of the window. (In spite of not having GPS, your iPad can obtain location services from WiFi.) Turn Locaion Services on if possible. If you can, ASIAIR should appear in the list below, Make sure you set it to at least "While Using." Again, only if you are willing to share your location on a Chinese server. If you are concerned about privacy, do not turn on "Precise Location," your Meridian flip will only be a few seconds off without it.
2) Go back to the Privacy & Security window. You will find Local Network as an item on the right side of the window.
Tap on Local Network, and if you see ASIAIR, turn it on.
I assumed that you have already turned off "Private Wi-Fi Address" in Wi-Fi settings, right?
