The issue IS this "Stop tracking" right at the meridian. Most of us need to be able to set a given amount of time AFTER the meridian, like I had on my SW mount ASCOM driver. I know that my setup will be perfectly fine, even 15° (1h) after the meridian. This gives me room to wait until after the meridian to do my flip when I do 10- or 15-minute exposures. I wait until my exposure is finished and I do the flip between 1 and 30 minutes after the meridian. It avoids wasting the most valuable imaging time (at the meridian) by stopping imaging, waiting, then doing the flip. In short, setting a security (maybe 10° by default, but configurable between 1 and 30°) is great. Stopping the tracking arbitrarily at the meridian is not. To be honest, I'm very surprised this has not been part of the firmware and the driver from Day 1. It is very basic.
