I polar align with pole master then do 2 star alignment then useing my hand controller I goto my target a it's center in my f o v. However when I connect my asiair and go-to the same target it is not can anyone give advice on this please
Go-to problem
- What mount do you have?
- Do you have "Go To Auto-Center" set as "ON" in the Telescope settings?

Hi my mount is eq5pro.not sure if I have go-to auto center on but I will give it a go.do u think this could be my problem :
johnpd Hi should go to center be on or off

You will want it to be on. That way, if the target is off center after a goto, the ASIAir will do a series of plate solves and automatically nudge the scope to get the object centered.
With the ASIAir, you shouldn't need to do a star alignment with your hand controller.
Hook up the ASIAir to your equipment and turn it on.
Set your scope to the home position. I.e. Pointing at Polaris
Turn it on.
Do your polar alignment. (I think it would be easiest to do this with the ASIAir, but that's me)
Pick a target in the ASIAir and hit goto.
The scope will slew to the target and the ASIAir will auto center.
ckoos thanks for the help I got the asiair cos I've just got a zwo camera and thought it would help to get object center in camera but can't seem to get it to behave.i think it's a case of try and try again. So thanks for the advise I will follow your instructions and let you know how I get on :
ckoos Hi I am already polar aligned with pole master so hopefully if I pick Cappella the asiair should point the mount to Cappella. As you use the asiair I will try that to polar align hopefully one of the two should work. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Pole master is easier and more precise than Asiair polar alignment.
Hara That's my thought also asiair seems more unreliable from what I have read .my understanding I should be able to pick a target and if I am polar aligned with pole master the asiair will point the mount at that target.Or is it not so simple as that

I usually use first pole master, not every time because my pole is concrete, it doesn't move so alignment is done only maybe twice a season. Head is EQ6 Pro. Then I use Asiair starmap to point the target and then goto. After first slew to target Asiair takes a picture, solves it and makes correction (gives corrections to EQ6 Pro) an takes next picture. Then I use starmap to make slight adjustments and maybe rotate the camera (manually because Asiair doesn't support electronic rotators). When I am satisfied with orientation, I go to Autorun and tick all different pictures I want to take (I have made all possible combinations, Light, Dark, Flat etc. and their filters and times in to that dialog, so no need for adding them one by one every time. And the only press Shoot button. Basically it is as simple as you said.
Hara Thanks for your reply last night I polar aligned with pole master and got it spot on tonight hopefully all will work ok
