Many club observing outings and star parties prohibit using a white light. I’ve built a box to hold my iPad with a rubylith (red) panel covering the iPad display. It works great to eliminate white light while using my ASIAIR+ but the red wavelength also eliminates all green-blue lettering used by the ASIAIR+. Examples are polar alignment readout on adjusting altitude and azimuth, RA guide graph, etc.
A simple black background with white letters/ numbers would solve the problem. Perhaps an option in the ASIAIR+ for the display colors.
I’ve received some complaints at observing events when I slide my iPad out of its box to read important information. Help us out here!
