2600mc w CPC1100 focus

I have a 585MC and a QHY174, and have no problems focusing them with my CPC1100. I simply insert them into the 2" visual back and use the electronic focuser. I recently purchased a 2600MC and am frustrated by my attempts to focus. I can't get better than a "9" on the focus assist scale in SharpCap, on nights where I am getting ₂ with the QHY. I appear to pass through focus but the stars just don't tighten up. Also, star fields are not nearly as rich as they should be. The fainter stars and objects just do not appear - the ShapCap focus assist often fails because of "not enough stars" on the same field where the QHY and 585MC see lots of stars and focus easily. I've tried a variety of exposure and gain settings. What am I missing?

Ignore this post. I paid for SharpCap Pro, went through my SharpCap settings and created a new profile, from scratch, for the 2600MC. I do not fully understand the automated focus assist, and I believe some of the problems were related to the AutoZoom feature. Things are looking up.
