Asiair plus or mini?

As the title says really.
I'm looking into getting this device for eaa. Is the mini adequate enough for this? I'd be using an az gti mount (in eq mode) and an asi178mc camera.

Hi, I have that setup and it works great with the ASIAIR mini. The difference with the pro and plus versions are not as relevant or necessary for what you want to do with their components. With the mini version you will not have a power button, all the USBs are 2.0, you do not have an ethernet port and neither a USB drive. The power button is not necessary, the transfer speed of USB 2.0 is not as appreciable already in use, you will not need the ethernet port if you are not going to use the PC or some other accessory and if you need more capacity you can place a hub to expand the USB ports and put a memory expansion there. You can use the mini version for your setup without problem

orion Hi this looks great. Ready tor travel to the wild woods, or better the bortle 1 holiday areas. I also have AZGTI . Have you tried to put the Asiair mini in the compartiment where the battries now sit? And is it possible to transfer the files to the network while imaging? So I can already view and process them on a laptop on the network?

Hi, so far I see these questions, but better late than never. The Asiair Mini should not be placed in that compartment as it will be disabled for some of its functions. Images can only be made if you have a memory or hard drive connected to one of the ASIAIR's USB ports. However, I recommend that you ask other people to see if they have achieved it in some way,
