Crash protection

First, thank you to the AM5 Dev team for releasing a firmware with limits. However, if the mount does crash into a pier or a well secured tripod leg. Does the AM5 have a built in overvolt protection to stop it? Or will it just grind gears or skip the belt?

AM5 has this kind of stall detection mechanism.
Soon we will announce a new firmware V1.2.9 for AM5.

Yesterday, I was finishing installing all my setup on my AM5.
I dint' launch any sequence or whatsoever, just checking that all softwares and hardwares were working great.
This morning, I came to my mount, and had an horror vision, seeing the refractor crashed into the tripod.
The light was on, so I guess it was tracking from yesterday, despite I didn't ask anything to the mount.
It doesn't look 'Ike nothing is damaged, but I really fear it might have degrade the mount performance.

First, what is strange is that I read that the mount couldn't track 4 minutes past meridian. So how could have it tracked way beyond???

Second, could you tell me more about the stall protection? Do you think the belt has skipped? Do you think it needs maintenance?
And was this protection available since first version of firmware?
My versions are App 1.3/AM5 1.2/ AMH2. 1

By the way, as there is a home sensor, I don't understand why there is no possibility for the user to set a slew and tracking limit. With such a torque, it is mandatory.

AstroBen60 If you have not set the gps and time to am5, the track will not stop, becasue it did not know what is the direction。the stall protection will enable when the speed is R9(1440x), becasue it will not detect is in slow speed. You could try again ,use asiair connect am5, asiair will set the neccessary info to am5.then do go home. then do your test. thank you.

I didn't use asiair, but time and location were set via the app.
So you mean there is no stall protection at sidereal tracking speed? Only a stall protection when slewing at 1440x.?

That's really something weird!
What is the point to disable this stall protection at sidereal rate ?? If it's something that is implemented, why do not have it working whatever the tracking speed?
