Apparent Chip Defect, asi183mc

I recently purchased an asi183mc camera from Agena Astro, and after taking several imaging sessions including taking flats and darks I have discovered an apparent anomaly in the imaging chip behavior. I have uploaded screen captures of files showing an individual 60 second dark frame, a stacked 30-frame master dark, an individual 60-second light frame, and a finished stack of 60 frames of M3 showing the apparent effects of the chip behavior on the processed picture. I have several other ZWO cameras, asi183MM-pro, asi678mc, and a asi120mm and none of these cameras display any such behavior with images captured on their chips

Seems like a single light frame looked OK until you calibrated the stack with your master dark frame.

That leads me to think that there is a light leak when you took your dark frames.

Did you happen to take the dark frames in a brighter environment than the location where you took the light frames?

Remove the camera from the OTA, and cap the camera flange with a metal M42 cap. Try taking your dark frames again after that, to see if the problem persists. If the problem goes away, you have a light leak.

If you are using a ZWO filter tray or ZWO filter wheel, those would be the prime suspects for leaking light.

I also think the problem could well be. light leak.as a one time film user and photographer I saw this a few times and it was always light leak into the camera.Hope you can sort it out.

Take a dark with the camera not attached with the cover over the front camera ring. If it goes away then it is definitely a light leak.

Agreed. put it in a dark room, then re-take the dark frames to try.
