Hi ! Recently I bought a new mount AM5 and a ioptron RC6. I tried it for the first time yesterday. However I encountered a problem with the plate solving of the asiair. I'm unable to do a PA. Yet I entered the correct length focal (1370) and my setting of my camera (asi 294mc pro) is ok too. I tried to point an objet like m51 and to my surprise, it was right in the center... the same thing with other object... I don't understand ! The am5 doesn't have a sensor that detect the north and the polar ? My problem with the polar alignment is unsolved !
Plate solving issue
Try setting fl to zero then do a PA. I've had the same issue. Also make sure your focus is good
Eriktim82 Thank you I'll try it with my next session... I hope that it will be ok ! Yesterday, we have an aurora borealis... I thought it was cause of that !
Hello, the aurora may cause the image to be overexposed and cannot be solved. You could try to lower exp.
Checking method: You can keep the Mount pointing at the same position when solving fails, switch to Preview Mode, take a photo with the same exp, and try to resolve it
