Kevin_A I did try sorbothane o-rings on my 2600 as well. So far they pass the noise test and I cannot feel anymore vibration on the side of the red can housing.
Make sure you post something about it so I can modify my cameras.
If they are O-rings in between the fan and the camera housing, it should be easy for anyone else to copy what you did.
My ZWO 2600C and 2600M and 6200C all use the same cheap fans (and there is no Noctua equivalent), while the 071C and 183M have the smaller fans that do have Noctua equivalents. My 533M (same Sony sensor family as the IMX571 as the 2600) is from QHYCCD and don't appear yet to suffer from the ZWO vibration problem.
Indoor tests at 22c show no problem getting down to -10c at 75% cooler capacity so with my average night temps at 15c I see no issues.
Ah, but you live closer to the polar bears that most of us do :-) :-).
Have you heard this puzzle? A hunter started at some location A, walked 1 km south and shot a white bear. Then walked 1 km east, and another 1 km north and ended up where he began. Where is A?
