Problem with Mosaic - Plan mode

Last night, July 10, I set up a 3x3 mosaic with 25% overlap and gathered data on one pane. Tonight I went to gather data on second pane. I found the displayed mosaic was no longer a nice rectangle composed of nine overlapping rectangles. I have no idea if this is simply a problem with the sky atlas (wouldn't be the first) or if the data detailing the location of each pane is corrupted. I am using Android version 2.1 10.74.

Notice that when you rotate each of the sub-panes (small rectangles) by the same amount slightly counter clockwise, you end up with a nice large rectangular made up of smaller rectangles in an 3x3 array.

Did your camera angle change from the night before and tonight?

Check the plate solved camera angle that you recorded in your observation note book last night, and compare that to the plate solved camera angle tonight. You need to adjust the camera angle so that the plate solve tonight (and in the future) shows the same camera angle as the reference (last night).

Rho2017 the way I approach this is to input each individual pane in plan mode. On the first night I shoot a few shots of each pane. If the mosaic plan is lost you still have individual shots from each panel. You can then use these to plate solve and goto. You then take as many shots of each pane as you require to build your mosaic.

In plan mode I do not have the ability to rotate anything. I think that option does not exist, but it did seem to exist in the previous version. I setup each night, but I set the camera position angle to match that of the pane.

It's very strange that the mosaic in the ASIAir Pro changed overnight.

I deleted the mosaic plan and used used an image from night 1 to create a new mosaic plan. I hope the plan will still be correct tomorrow, or whenever I image next. The strange thing tonight was the meridian flip did not occur.

andybutt Hi, Now why didn't I think of that?!!! I usually use the first image from the first night to center the target on multi-night sessions. I can't believe it never occurred to me to do this.

I deleted then recreated the mosaic plan using an image from night #1 to align the mosaic. Then I took 60s individual shots of each pane for future reference. I think the ASIAir didn't like that I had a way around the problem because it then didn't do the meridian flip.
