AM5 latest Firmware V1.3.7 is formally released

We formally announce the AM5 Firmware V1.3.7 to replace the old one V1.3.0.
To update the latest firmware, you should first update the firmware of the ASI Mount Hand controller(AMH) to V2.4.
Then you can use the AMH Management System to update the AM5 firmware.
From V1.3.0 to V1.3.7, we fixed a bug:
GOTO has a tiny deviation after the calibration of Home Position.

Thanks to all users who helped in the beta period.
We keep making ASI Mounts better and better. Just give us some time.

ASIMount@ZWO Following the Firmware update, my ASIAIR Plus will not connect to the AM5 Mount. I have been using them both for a year with no problem and suddenly they will absolutely NOT connect. I can connect to the mount with my iPad, and the mount is logged onto the ASIAIR network according to the mount information page, but the AIP Plus cannot connect to the mount. VERY FRUSTRATING.

ASIMount@ZWO what's happening at ZWO? I have issues with my AM5 since July 23 and there is no reaction from support. First time Simon Lewis was reacting but the beginn of October the3re is absolute silence.

Is that the policy of ZWO selling items for some 1000 Dollars and if there are problems nobody cares?

Hi friends
Is possible to setup angle limits for the AM5 mount to avoid scope collision with tripod?
Using AsiAir and very often in libe stacking mode (for spectators around) and last time we shooted M51 (almost at zenith) and just by luck we stopped it with camera almost touching tripod leg. Using 200mm pier extension but even so can bottom end of scope kit be in collision with tripod.
I did not find any safety limits settings in asiair nor in mount app.
Using only asiair, no ascom and other software

I just received my AM5 and tried to update the firmware (hand controller was at FW revision 2.1, mount FW was at revision 1.1.2) using the ASI Mount App on my iPhone 13. As many others experienced, I got the "Get Data Failed" message on the AMH Management System firmware page in the ASI Mount App. With ZWO's support, we determined the problem was difficulty of the mount/hand controller communicating to the internet (connecting to the FW server) through my mesh network (Orbi Mesh Router). We resolved the issue by connecting the mount/hand controller to the internet through my iPhone's hotspot (cellular data), then using an iPad to run the ASI Mount App. I updated the hand controller FW first. After updating the hand controller to the latest revision, the latest revision of the mount became available, and I updated the mount to V1.3.7. Hopefully this workaround can help others who are experiencing the "Get Data Failed" issue.

nlaplaca I tried this exact same strategy without success last night. Maybe it's a Verizon thing, since my home Wi-Fi is wireless (cable-less) to my router from a nearby 5G tower. I'll try a phone on another carrier tonight, but so far, I'm stuck in "Get Data Failed" territory.

Is this firmware available for download as a zip file that can be uploaded via the ASCOM interface? I do not use the hand control and have v1.2.8 currently, my AM5 is driven from an Eagle at the mount. If I try the online update the system will revert to 1.2.1.

Jhaunton It dose, but you need to ask support to get the newest firmware file to update through ASCOM. For now, ASCOM does not support online updating. You see it shows v1.1.2. We will deal with it later.

There is a major bug where you can't use the mount on wifi without the hand controller plugged in.

I've never used the hand controller. I always use my computer to control the mount. The ZWO driver has an option for updating the mount firmware with a file. Why is it so difficult to access this file? Why is it not just simply accessible via the support downloads page like every other vendor? My mount is still on the firmware it shipped with 1.1.2. Please provide a link to the firmware either here in the forums or on the support site.

deathtical For now, we doesn't publish the firmware files on website of ASI Mount.
There are three ways to upgrade ASI Mount's firmware:

with HC
with ASCOM Local update, you need to contact us to get the file
with ASCOM online update, still has a bug that it's not the latest version. We will fix it and note it as soon as possible.

hyiger Yes i've heard but since i never need to use the hand controller would be much more convenient if the wifi was built into the base unit, and allow me to run it without the hand controller.

Foobaria The base unit is all metal; it'd need a separate antenna to make that work.
