Urgent Question, ZWO or Someone Please Respond!

I'm going to a Bortle 2 site tomorrow for 3 nights of imaging. I am bringing the ZWO EAF on my Edge 8 for the first time. I have a question:

The Edge requires a counterclockwise movement after achieving focus to help minimize mirror shift. When using the EAF in automatic focus mode, how do I make sure that its final focus movement is counterclockwise?

Why not wait until the autofocus routine has finished, then use the focuser control in the Asiair or whatever software you are using to move the focuser one step clockwise and then back counterclockwise. It should end up in the same position unless you have a lot of backlash, but you can compensate for that.

Thanks for replying Jarno. Yes, I can try that. I think I may have read that the AF routine in the ZWO EAF doesn't require any backlash compensation so I am not sure if AF auto will always do a counterclockwise move into final focus. But if it doesn't your method should definitely work.

Thanks for the link. I read through it but ZWO's answer seems to be that the EAF doesn't distinguish between clockwise or counterclockwise motion to achieve precise focus. It appears that Jarno's solution may be the best..
