Using as AA+ for visual astro

Question for the brain trust. The AM5, AA+, ASI220MM mini, and ASI2400MC work very well for AP. However, sometimes, I like to use the main scope for visual. Can I use the AM5, AA+, and ASI220MM mini for PA, plate solving, goto, and guiding for visual?

My thought is to use the ASI220MM mini attached to my guidescope (50mm aperture/200mm FL) as the main camera in AA+ for (1) PA, (2) plate solving, and (3) goto a target for visual. Once set, change the ASI220MM mini as the guide camera in AA+ and then guide for visual. Will this work?

Have you tried it? I set the guide camera as the main scope for precise focus, don’t see why what you are planning would not work.

edwyun PA, plate solving, goto, I would think no problem. Can’t figure how you could guide if it is set as main camera. Again try, shouldn’t be able to break anything.
