Sony has apparently produced a mono IMX585 sensor according to their data sheet.
I wonder if ZWO would consider producing a mono IMX585 camera with this sensor at this time?

Not interested in a cooled version as the FWC of the sensor at HCG 252 is just too small for DSO imaging. Stars get too oversaturated at all exposures over 60s. With only 2.5K FWC at rhe low noise Gain 252 setting, the pixel saturation is fast. The 533 sensor has 16.5K FWC at liw noise HCG so it is much better for DSO imaging. I have both cameras and have tested them extensively. The 533 is a much better camera fir long exposures over 60 seconds.

StarMedic The topic on IMX585 mono camera appeared over a year ago. ZWO replied they were evaluating this option. Usually, the new camera appears in half a year after "evaluation". It is obvious to me that the decision was negative. No other manufacturers came to the market with the IMX585 either. This may indicate that there is a dearth of the sensors (e.g. they are used in the battle drones), and the available sensors are too expensive.

I did not want to wait anymore, and purchased (uncooled) ASI678MM with the view to use it for EAA of nebulas and star clusters. I will be missing the larger sensor of 585.

Most of us who are members of this forum are loyal ZWO customers. We’ve waited for quite a while for an answer to the question, will ZWO produce a cooled, monochrome version on the ASI535MC? How ‘bout it?
Meanwhile QHY have released the 585 mono and colour in both 1.25 inch and Minicam8 format (cooled, in built filter wheel and filters).
