I solved my own problem. Since I can connect seestar to my secondary phone, I connect to seestar and change the wifi frequency from 5G to 2.4G and now I can connect to iphone pro 13. No need to turn on airplane mode.

That worked for me a couple of times then it stopped working and would only work with mobile data turned off again. I’ve started using station mode at home until they come up with a fix. I have an iPhone 14pro. I have submitted a case through the app but haven’t had a response from ZWO.

I had the same issue on an iPhone 15 Pro Max on latest updates. It worked after I disabled "Mobile Data" in the app settings.

@AstroImg@ZWO is there a fix from ASI on the way for this? or is this an Apple issue?

chuckstar where is the Disable Mobile Apps? I looked in the Settings and then Seestar. Nothing.

AstroImg@ZWO Yes that’s what I’ve been doing at home and station mode works well. I can just sit upstairs and slew around looking at different targets. It’s when I’m away from wifi that this will be an issue. I might have to dig up an old phone for now.

cbrucker I am having the exact same thing with an iPhone 15 Pro and an 11 Pro.

They did work for a day, and today I could connect and image for 2 hours, but when I went to switch targets, then I started to get the disconnect issues. Now I can't connect no matter what. It keeps Failing.

I have spent 4 hours tonight resetting the Seestar, deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing. It's pretty frustrating.

willowaray You can use Station Mode to connect Seestar to the Internet.

I'm having the same issues with my SeeStar and my iphone 15 pro max and my iPad (and an older android phone)- I've tried everything that ZWO suggested (thanking them for the response) and everything here - most I get is a quick connection, then dropped out - not long enough to move scope anywhere.... I did decide to return it. That meant going back to my dealer - them giving me the web address for ZWO returns. Going to that site, where you can't return it you can simply send it back to be fixed or replaced. They then sent a RMA number for return but gave no address to send it to. There isn't an address on this site that I can find - although others have said there is a U.S. service center - then I read that it has taken other weeks to send and get replies. It's all a bit frustrating - I really wanted it to work - so now I'm going to call the dealer and see if I can just send it to them....

We have a brand new seestar. Updated firmware first thing. Latest version of the app. Will not connect. Continued failure. Could connect for brief periods, calibrated compass and goto moon. Took one pic. Tried to goto another target, connection failure. Again and again. This is a $500 paperweight. This is fraud. We expect this issue to be resolved immediately or a new unit that works sent to us. This is a donated item to our astronomy dept. we know what we are doing. We set up an old refractor with manual tracking and got exposures during the 2 hours we attempted to connect our phone with this device. iPhone running latest version iOS 17.

Please respond. We are known in our community, members of several astronomy forums. This is absurd. This is fraud.

You keep calling it a fraud despite the fact that the majority of people have no issues with connecting. There are several suggestions for difficulty in connecting such as turning on airplane mode, etc. I believe most of these issues were corrected in the latest update. I use mine with ios 17 on a iphone 15 pro and have no issues at all connecting. Not sure you actually know what fraud means. File a report with seestar support as opposed to just saying the same thing over and over on a forum which will get you no where.

wps652 you must work for the company. Yes it’s fraud, no one will even respond. It does not work, we tried every “fix.” It briefly works then fails, every time. The company will not let me contact it. Or respond. There’s no way to address this. That is fraud.

Thor Please try turning off the cellular network to connect, or use Station Mode to connect Seestar.

Thor Once again, you clearly don't understand the legal definition of fraud. Having a product that is possibly defective is not fraud. The vast majority of seestars seem to work fine, mine does. Based on your posts I tend to think the issue is you. And no, I don't work for the company but suspect you work for a competitor.
