Seestar Connection problem with my iPhone
Same issue with iPhone 13 pro.
Open iOS Settings. On the left panel, scroll all the way down until the third party Apps section. You should find your app there.
Tap on the app icon, and the permissions for that app should be visible on the right side of the Settings window. Make sure Local Network access and Location servies are turned on.
Be warned that this will allow more of your personal data to be sent to a server in China. If you don't want that to happen, do not use SeeStar (you should have known this before buying it). There are other smart scopes that use servers in the west.

Same issue here. You have to turn off cellular for the app. once you do that the seestar will connect to your phone. Only problem is, you wont be able to find any objects without the cell connection.
I got my iPhone 15 seestar app to connect both to the telescope and the internet. When in to the My Seestar page/Wi-fi/ and selected station mode. I added my home wifi info there. Then to iPhone settings/cellular/ scroll down to Seestar and turn OFF the cellular data.
I got the same problem very frustrating is it just iphones?
Dariv there must be more then 1 type of Comnection issue going on. I have turned off the Cellular when my iPhone 15 won't connect, and it doesn't help at all. In fact with the new App update. When I had a failed connection tonight, I turned off the cellular data, and the Seestar App popped up a warning that the cellular data was not on, and that the Seestar wouldn't function properly. So people need to stop with the advice of turning off the Cellular data.
I just received my Seestar S50 yesterday (two weeks earlier than promised!). Had the exact same issue. Turning off cellular data for the app is the key, as mentioned above. Once I did that, everything worked exactly as advertised. They REALLY need to mention that in the manual, which would also benefit from review by a native English speaking proofreader. It needs a lot of work.
Nonetheless, the scope exceeds expectations. Great product. This is going to be fun!
PaigeC turning off the celluar data for you might have been the key, but it's not the key for my Seestar. I have tried that and it doesn't help at all. Mine will connect 50% of the nights. It's kind of like it wakes up and flips a coin to decide if it wants to work or not. The nights it won't work, nothing will make it work. On the nights it decides to connect, it will connect all night long with no issues. I am not doing anything different between the nights it connects and the nights it doesn't connect. Super frustrating at this point. And ZWO is doing nothing to help.
I'm using a iphone 15 ios 17 and it connects to the seestar without issue. Works fine.
I have an iPhone14 running iOS 17.1 and an iPad and I have no issue connecting. I have had my Seestar for the last 4 months and it has worked flawlessly.
