How do you retrieve a photo from the Seestar?

I'm still finding this difficult and a tad confusing.

I have taken still, and Vid, in scenery mode and I'm trying to get them to my laptop. I followed the link that explains transfers using Station Mode but the computer said the IP address was 404 forbidden.
I have also connected my Seestar to the laptop via USB and can see the My Works folder... but it's empty.
I thought this was going to be easy 🙂

dave85374 Did this issue get resolved Dave? If so, how? I'm having the same problem

JPEGs go to your phone, no place else. Videos usually get saved in Myworks under object name. Deep sky objects are saved as FITS files in Myworks and automatically stacked.

This is really confusing.

seldom Thanks. What about scenery pics? I can see them in my Ipad Photos, but getting them transferred in bulk to my laptop seems to be problematic, as I can't see anything in MY Works with File Manager

My guess is The only place they are stored is on your iPhone, and you will need to use Apple protocols to extract them i’m assuming they are JPEG?

seldom. Yes I think I agree. It's funny that I always assumed that this bit of the process would be the most simple. I should have known better I guess 🙂

Trying to get confirmation from support but I think the SeeStar app needs to be installed when the S50 if on and ready and perhaps first time connecting. Or else the emmc sub folders are not created. Many people can’t see the subfolders. When do they get created? Response from suppor is needed

BalearicLion you could make a script to check the latest image from \SeeStar.local and copy it to your computer via networking while the device is shooting.

I tried this but either I'm missing something or that last step was for Mac and I'm on Windows. I see no way to duplicate that entry in Explorer. My PC is connected to the Seestar because I can ping its IP.

Can you clarify this?

Hi all,
the USB connection never worked for me, whenever I connected the "USB stick" wasn't recognized and the computer asked me to format it. Instead I connected via WiFi, entered \10.0.0.1 and downloaded this way. THis worked now since more than a year.
Apparently Microsoft changed their policies inside WIndows and all of a sudden "your organization's security policies block unauthenticated guest access to protect my PC".
Now I cannot access my files anymore at all. I browsed the web for useful hints and found several but none of them succeeded. Any further idea, especially from the ZWO side?

If Seestar asks for formatting after being connected to the computer, it may be due to corrupted system files or computer permission settings. You can first connect via WiFi to copy the files stored on Seestar, then follow the tutorial for exporting files from your computer or Seestar Apage WiFi by clicking here: https://h5.seestar.com/course/79218.
Afterward, you can choose to format the device (please make sure all files are copied, as they cannot be recovered once formatted), and then reconnect using the USB cable.
Please note: if formatting on a computer, the file format must be exFAT.
