AM5 Azimuth stop tightening.

Hi ! I’m probably not the only one who encountered this issue : my AM5 azimuth stop nut has some play and I want to tighten it. How did I noticed it ? Simple : when I put my finger on the stop and tighten one of the az screw, I can feel the stop moving a bit. Obviously it’s slightly unscrewed and it needs to be tightened.

Problem, I can’t find a way to access to the stop.
It seems that I need to disassemble the lower part of the mount and then I should be able to access the az stop, but I’m not sure and if so it may not be possible without a special tool.

And yes, I can see there’s a hole in the stop nut, and I suppose it’s there to tighten the stop screw but the mount design doesn’t allow me to introduce any tool in it.

Hopefully someone will help with this. Someone from @ASIMount@ZWO maybe ?

I didn't face this issue..
Drop your post in "ZWO AM5 Owners' Club" in cloudy nights forum it will help.
I suppose its easy to fix as its not touching with electronic parts.

Very easy to tighten. If you do not want to take the bottom plate off… Do you see the hole thru the post? Place a small allen key or very small screw driver into the hole and turn the post to tighten.
It is a tight fit but it can be turned. I just did mine.

I also tried with an Allen key but couldn’t get enough torque. The key scratched the mount red finish so I gave up. I’ll try again with a smaller tool.

Lain402 it is a very tiny tight space, you could place some tape on the anodized red area to avoid further scratching. It does not need to be wicked tight, just tight enough so there is no movement. Find the right size tool or remove the base and then you can tighten it up much more for sure.

The best solution would probably be removing the mount’s base but for that I think I need a special tool:
