Seestar Feature Requests

I have had my Seestar for a few weeks and love it. Great work. Just a few feature requests and a suggestion for future models.

Solar tracking works perfectly but in Australia the Sun is very hot. My Seestar becomes extremely hot. I worry about it being damaged. If you produced a white version it would remain much cooler. Perhaps consider releasing a limited edition white version or making white an option in the next upgrade version. This would solve the heat problem.
Please allow us to save individual frames during Solar and Lunar time lapse recording. I would like to compile the images myself into a time-lapse video at different frame rates and also add date / time stamps to each frame. I can do this if Seestar recorded each frame as a seperate photo.

Please give us more control over exposure length and gain during star gazing. I do videos of the Geostationary Satellites which require manual setting of these values for best results.
For Seestar V2 - please use the 585 chip for higher resolution and make a white version. I would buy it immediately.

Hi to All!
The New Planner of Seestar is nice. But some things I would be like.
If I looking for a field to take a Comet or something else I have the letters "Unknown".
I would like to edit this.
I want to plan a List of Comets to observe.
The Seestar List of Comets is not helpfull.
The "Weekly Comets" for North and South is more
at the Observation Level. Of course Comets below 16m can be invisible, but a warning can help..
Do you really observe this?...
I would like to take some Survey. So I would plan some Fields to taken, like 4 Fields each 10 Minutes or so, then Back again 3 or 4 times.
Okay, a Blinking can be nice, but I can do this outside.
There are a lot of Things I have seen. Some Users working with TYCHO Tracker and many more..

Just as a start, I am SOOOOO looking forward to trying EQ mode. Thanks for agreeing to work on this.

I've captured data over a few nights, downloaded them to my PC and deleted them on the SeeStar S50. For some reason, the SeeStar will not let me re-upload them to the device over WiFi. I've been able to do it via cable, but it would be nice to reload from the WiFi if possible.

Whilst I am here, can we have a button to stop storing the jpg's when "Save all frames" is ticked please? They are useless for stacking, so there isn't any point having them taking up space.

Tech@ZWO I would also like the ability to store to an internal HD - if imaging over multiple nights and using the SeeStar to stack, then it is easy to fill up the internal storage. Having a plug-in USB Solid-state drive plugged in so we can stack in-app with all the data would be very cool.

For the framing, I would love to see the width and height as independent choices. That would allow a better use of the area around different objects. The suggestion is to have sliders for both axes magnification. I know that it makes the coding more complex, but I believe it would be worth it.

I want to suggest a new feature that may be valuable for users working on longer mosaics:

As a user, I would like to be able to plan (mark frame on atlas), progress (make shots from the different sessions), and post-process(or pack out for post-processing) all together so that I can do multi-session target shooting with less effort and preparation and post-processing.

a smaller version of this is to have the ability to save and continue framing (mosaics).

An additional nice to have feature is to have an ability to track\show progress if target coverage in percent from target quality or time per frame (mostly for mosaics but also could be valuable for single frame shots

P.S. next idea is even more crazy - a plan generation feature that would incorporate location information, frame (mosaic), time schedule available (like from 10 pm till 4 pm) so that user can automatically build full big mosaics over time.

I would like to see an option to auto refocus after X number of minutes. If shooting starts early in the evening and goes over night, the temperature drop will be enough to cause the focus to change and require refocusing. Building that into the software would be a huge benefit.

Can we have the ability to dim/turn off the lights on the SeeStar once imaging starts please? That green and yellow are very bright!

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my device, which I believe will be the first to arrive in Libya. I'm wondering if it would be possible to make a group of devices work as a network to photograph a specific area of the sky, so that the images can then be combined into a single image.

You can use each Seestar to capture a different part of the sky using the Mosaic mode, and then later stitch all the images together manually using stacking or stitching software.
