I noticed in the AVX menu system tracking can be turned of or on. When using ASIAir should you turn off the AVX tracking and let ASIAir perform sidereal, solar, lunar tracking. I assume it sends commands to the AVX mount for the tracking.

I will try it next evening's session and report if no one responds here.

    The ASIAIR is too dumb to track anything.

    What it does is to use the mount's tracking capability.

    When you ask ASIAIR to turn tracking on or off (or change tracking mode), it simply sends that request to the mount.

    Remember that most mount protocols will automatically start tracking after completing a GOTO command (but not a slew command). Check your mount's document.

        w7ay you mention the ASIAIR can change tracking mode, where is the setting for this? I'm imaging from the Southern Hemisphere and have noticed that when I disable and resume tracking in the app, it sets the tracking mode to "EQ North". I don't see any options in the mount section of the app that allows for the setting of the mode. Have I missed something?

          Check the tracking section in the mounts hand controller. You can set it off north, or south. The ASIAir just turns it on or off.

            SFj9LuNr That's what I've used to set it to EQ South and troubleshoot the issue. If tracking is stopped and resumed in Asiair app that setting in the HC gets set to EQ North.

            Steps to reproduce:

            1. In HC set tracking mode to EQ South.
            2. In Asiair app use GoTo to slew to target (this will start tracking)
            3. Check tracking mode in HC (it will be EQ South still)
            4. In Asiair app stop tracking from the home screen widget
            5. In Asiair app start tracking again from the home screen widget
            6. Check tracking mode in HC (it will be EQ North)
