Support for Avalon Instruments New Mount Controller

I would very much appreciate, if you could provide the following driver for the Avalon Instruments StarGO2 Pro and StarGO+ controllers.

This is the driver I would need:

The current driver is the LX200 Basic, which has very limited functionality. E.g., guiding is not possible. Avalon claims they have fixed these issues with their new Avalon Universal Driver (avalonud).

Hi, any news on the installation of this AvalonUD driver?

By chance, I recently saw the new Touptek AstroStation during an unrelated trip to Shanghai. It runs on INDI 2.0.5 and has the 3rd part INDI drivers preinstalled, including the AvalonUD drivers. I would very much appreciate, if the ASIair could provide the same drivers.

Hello again. I am considering the ASI2600 Duo and the ASI2600MC AIR. Great idea this level on integration.

But as long as the ASIAIR does not contain the AvalonUD (INDI) drivers, I cannot use the ASIAIR for guiding. Please, include the AvalonUD drivers in one of you next releases. That would help other and me a lot. Thank you!

Hi… if anyone stumbles over this thread, I was able to connect and configure an OnStep driver box, the JTW Manticore, to the Avalon mount. After running some first test, I seem to be a 100% compatible now with the ASIAIR 😃👍

The Manticore costs between about €100 and €300. You need to do some soldering of the wires/connectors. Maybe JTW could offer that as a service … I did it myself.

Now I have a "minor" challenge with this setup. When both the Asiair and the OnstepX/Manticore are both connected to my home network, I can use my router app to find their corresponding IP address and use those to get everything connected.

If I use the ASiair mini as my access point (5GHz WiFi network!) and run the OnstepX in station mode, I cannot figure out the Wifi address of the mount. The ASIair seems to assign a random IP address. I have the option to set a fixed IP address on the OnstepX controller and disable DHCP, but it seems the Asiair ignores this request and still assigns a random IP address to the mount.

Any idea how to fix this?

It would be nice (and probably easy) to show in the ASIair what IP addresses are assigned to the Asiair access point.

I programmed a little network scanner in a SWIFT playground looking for valid network connections in the ASIAIR network (10.0.0.x) on port 9999. I could not find any valid connection.... to be investigated.

Solution is: Asiair mini in station mode (2.4GHz network) connecting to the OnStePX Wifi. Connection to the OnStepX mount controller via the OnStepX Wifi.
The Asiair Wifi is still available and can be used to connect to the Asiair app.
