I've been using the ASIAir Plus since April and for the most part it's been great. Two nights ago, I was doing some testing and put my AM5 in Altazimuth mode and tried Live mode for the first time. A friend and I were comparing his Seestar S50 with my setup. I took many images of different targets. Then I fired up the guiding and to my surprise the guiding was pretty decent in Altazimuth mode. Not as good as Equatorial mode which is what I'd suspect. The next day I went looking for the log files and neither log (guide or activity) was present on the USB stick with the image files. I thought for sure I'd done something wrong and wrote it off as a one time event. I really wanted to analyze the guiding performance too.
Tonight, I took the rig out again and ran an hour of unguided but tracked images in Live mode. Then I fired up guiding and ran an hour of Live mode with guiding. I just brought everything in, pulled the USB and put it in my PC, looked in the Log folder on the USB stick and again it's empty, again!
So, are the logs only created if I'm running Plan mode? That's what I've been doing for months. Why can use the system guide for an hour and the data isn't being logged. That's ridiculous. Why not create the two log files in Live mode just like the Plan mode? I think it should be logging guiding performance anytime the guiding is engaged despite what mode it's running. It would be nice to see a log for what the rest of the ASIAir software is doing in log mode. Something like image taken, image stacked, image taken, imaged not stacked, etc.
Am I doing something wrong?
