Possible seestar s70?

I wonder if given the success that the seestar s50 has had, if zwo is thinking about launching a more advanced seestar, I think there are many of us who, despite it being more expensive, would pay for a superior seestar, with about 350 -400 mm focal length, with about 60-80 mm aperture, with equatorial movement, duo camera for tracking and cooling of the sensor, it would be a top seller for sure, are you considering zwo?

Hello , I think that a bigger version should be very nice ( S80 or even S100 ) and I would be on the list also to get one if it remains in my budget ;-)! But I am not sure the equatorial option should be interesting as this kind of telescope must stay as compact and light as possible . And to keep price as low as possible perhaps we can imagine a larger scaled version of the same shape of the actual S50. ZWO Equatorial telescopes are already available for more advanced amateur astronomy if needed : AM3 or AM5 mounts with FF65 to FF130 apos . And they are fantastic and also rather compact even though the completely automated photographic feature sadly is still not available...

telescopator Maybe an equatorial wedge like the skywatcher az-gti could transform the seastar into an equatorial one, that and the possibility of guidance and with the polar alignment function would make the exposures go up, I think zwo has a very interesting niche here, thank you very much .

Please consider releasing the next model in white. If the unit is to be used for solar observing black is the completely wrong colour. Mine gets too hot to touch within minutes in the Australian Sun. I covered it in white contact paper and it now remains cool.

This is a huge oversight in my opinion. Surely the engineers know that black gets hot in the sun?

I am so pleased with my Seestar50 that an 80mm or 100mm telescope would be a fantastic addition. Adding a larger sensor (cooled?) would be amazing. Perhaps an internal barlow lense to double the focal length for smaller DSO and planetary imaging. ZWO, you have created a model for larger more powerful robotic telescopes. The astronomy community would embrace this product for sure.

A larger SeeStar with all of the features you've mentioned would likely make a $500 instrument a $5000 instrument.

While a 70mm or 80mm option would be nice, a 50mm "Pro" version with a larger sensor and a sensor rotator to compensate for the alt az mount would be worth a cost increase. Maybe even offer a mono sensor option and filter wheel?

Save on motor and associated electronics but offset by more expensive camera sensor. (Why are camera sensors 4 sided after all ??. When lenses are circular… sounds like a Y2K scenario… but what do I know! Clear Skies everyone

I am so pleased with the performance of my 50mm Seestar. A 100 mm with a bigger sensor will be a huge hit. Please consider a larger Seestar for advanced users.

I would love an S70 or S100 with a greater field of view an an upgraded sensor, I would be first to place an order. I have Celestron and Skywatcher scopes, but the ZWO S50 class is so much fun to use with family and friends. Star parties really shine with budding enthusiasts when the S50 is present.

I am a big S50 fan. Love it's simplicity & performance. I would love to see a new product like S100, but for near term priority I would suggest the following with firmware updates:

1) Improve image acceptance rate by user specified tolerance
2) Digitally, rotate the sensor to get landscape images for wider Dso's.
3) Ability to capture high altitude objects that pass through zenith and perform a meridian flip, if necessary
4) Improve centring algorithm in all modes, deepsky, solar, lunar.

Thanks ZWO for a wonderful product in spite of its limitations.

It is the best "bang for the buck" product in the market for the entry level astro enthused.

I assume bigger units are coming or it wouldn't be the Seestar 50 probably just Seestar.

A 4K sensor is the next step, with a wider field of view. 80mm would be enough to keep the size and weight down. Or how about a wide angle attachment for the S50 to increase the field of view?

While a wide angle attachment seems like a good idea, I would think twice about this as the gearing would need to work under a greater mass load, this could also affect the centre of balance of the S50 ?

The Seestar is an amazing platform. The auto-stacking feature and firmware updates keep adding value to the product. C,mon ZWO, announce a larger S80-100mm. You have built an incredible fanbase. Keep up the good work!

With the S50 and any future larger focal length models, having equatorial support even with an Alt-AZ primary is a must . Interaction between Sky Safari and Stellarium also a huge plus.

According to one of the reps at NEAF I spoke to today, a larger version of the Seestar is in the works.

rankinsr If it comes in white I will buy it. I do mostly solar observing and black is just silly for this task. I fear my Seestar would not last very long in our Australian Summer if I left it in the Sun all day.
