EdCarver For anyone else happening upon this topic, the original poster asked for charging in AmpHours when he should have asked in Amps. There is no such thing as an Ah charging spec as Ah is a measure of capacity. One can ask the maximum charging current spec which, for any and all lithium ion batteries is 0.5C. 1C is the current that will fully discharge the battery in 1hour. Since the Seestar uses a 6Ah battery 1C is 6A and the maximum safe charging current is 3A. However, every lithium battery manufacturer suggests charging at much less than 0.5C to maintain the maximum life of the battery and always suggests 0.2C as the preferred charging current.
So the Seestar with 6Ah cells, the optimum charging current is 1.2A and the maximum charging current is 3A. Obviously the lower current will take more than twice as long to charge the battery but the trade-off is the battery capacity will not fade as fast.
