I'm planning to take my Seestar for the upcoming total Solar eclipse in North America in April. For that, I need to be able to set the exposure level manually or fix the exposure level before the eclipse starts and keep the exposure level constant throughout the partial phases of eclipse (before and after the totality) . Seestar does not offer a way to do that and this is to request that feature.
While testing Seestar for solar image taking, I noticed that Seestar does not offer a way to set the exposure manually or to fix the exposure level regardless of how much the Sun is 'eclipsed'. Obviously, the Sun was not actually eclipsed during my test run, but it was obscured by a tree and a building. When the Sun was obscured, the exposure level automatically went up and the Sun's image got brighter.
This behavior is not desirable when taking the time lapse video (or a series of still shots). The ideal exposure level set for the unobscured/eclipsed sun should be maintained throughout the 'partial phase' of the eclipse so the Sun is equally bright regardless of how much it is eclipsed.
During the totality (when the Sun was 100% eclipsed), that's a different story and a separate exposure level needs to be set. For that, I'll file a separate feature request.
