So, to clarify.
I am using an asiair pro. It will be difficult to test the duo on a PC.
The main camera works fine. As a matter of fact I ran it for the first time all night last night with no issues. It shoots and downloads images with no problem.
The guide camera works just fine exposing as a guidecam through the asiair version of PhD. It guided fine all night last night with occasional star lost due to dim stars through my narrowband filter.
The camera is attached directly to the asiair through a single USB3 cable. I have an eaf attached to the camera hub as well as a the original USB stick from my old asi2600mc pro. The 12v is supplied from the asiair which is supplied from the am5 which in turn is supplied from a 5a power supply set to 13.8v.
This setup has worked with the old asi2600mc for several years now. Are you saying this won't work with the new camera? It seemed to work fine last night.
I just wanted to know if the guide camera can be used as a main camera to take images in preview, autorun and plan modes.
Also another point. I was able to switch the guide camera to be the main camera last night to run the focus routine, which also worked fine. I was able to find focus the guide chip that way. It's just the preview and autorun modes seem to give that error, so it seems more of a software than hardware issue to me.
