2x plugin for TheSky X

I own a Paramount MX+ mount and am running TheSky X. I've been running my cameras with the ZWO native driver but I see that there's also a 2x camera driver plugin for use with TheSky X.
Two questions:

There's zero documentation that I can find. What does this driver do for me?
After downloading the driver and attempting to run the installer, it throws an error telling me to install TheSky first, when I already have it on my computer. What am I missing?

Both are ok, just different ways to control our camera.
What is the version of TheSky X you used? could you find the what is folder are the X2 drivers files in?
