AstroImg@ZWO To make the request clearer, we are not asking for it to stop acquiring automatically after 10 minutes, that would be the worst change you could make, I do acquisitions between 15 minutes and 2 hours all the time. Please don't break the few good things we already have.
The request is to be able to program an acquisition and have it stop after a user defined amount of time, which can be anything from 1 minute to a few hours, without a human being present to press the stop button. Said human would very much prefer to be asleep at that moment. The interval should be the real observation time, not the one accumulated by stacking. If you implement this feature you might as well take a series of observations, each one with its own RS/Dec coordinates and total time length and run them one after another without human presence. This small thing alone would increase the usability of the S50 tremendously for anybody that would want to use it fro more than just taking pretty random pictures of star fields.
We are essentially asking for some rudimentary kind of automation. Anything would be better than what we have right now. I just went to bed at 2AM last night after flying back home on a red-eye flight the previous night and I am already sleep deprived.
