ASI6200MC Pro - Faulty images

I had a problem with my ASI6200MC Pro last night. My first recordings worked without any problems. Then I pointed the telescope at a new object and all of a sudden all the images were faulty. The cable connection from the ASIAIR to the camera was not moved, but I moved the plug and cable back and forth several times, which did not lead to any improvement.

Why did the problem suddenly appear without me doing anything?

Could it be related to the latest ASIAIR version? This is actually the only thing that has really changed since my previous nights.

What is also noticeable is that the images appear very dark after 180 seconds. The globular cluster in the center right should appear much brighter in the single exposure after this time.

dane If you have change to different USB cables, ports and 12V power supplies, it may need to be shipped back for repair.
When and where did you purchase the camera?

I am having a somewhat similar issue with an AS6200MM connected to a PC using NINA. It can work for a whole night or part of a night, and then start doing the same thing. I have changed everything between the camera and the PC, including the power cords and USB cables. A second identical camera connected in a dual setup does not have this random problem. The problem is so random that it is very difficult to troubleshoot.

Hi,

thank for sharing your experience. With cameras in this price range, however, such problems should not occur, and my expectation here would be that ZWO would make a statement on this. But as in other miserable experiences with ZWO and its support, nothing seems to be forthcoming here either. Perhaps the problem could be solved with a firmware update. Alternatively, I would expect ZWO to take care of the problem.

Tech@ZWO I had this problem only in one night, and before, it works properly. For the next night, i try a diffrent cable. My 12V power supply, that delivers a little bit more than 13V, works fine with all other setups.

I bought this camera last year, but used, so there its no warranty. After my bad experience with a new ASI6200MM, which also had to be repaired, my question would be whether I could simply replace the board myself?

dane The problem more likely on the daughterboard, consider of the sensor level problem, we do not recommend to replace at your end.
