Drivers failing to install on MeLE Quieter 4C with Windows 11 Pro.

I have been unable to install the drivers for ASI cameras (585 MC Pro and 120 MC) or for my AM3 mount using the ZWO_ASI_Cameras_driver_Setup_V3.24 application. Device Manager sees the cameras but reports no drivers found. Install has been attempted using many methods including after removing all security software without success. The install software completes, but never identifies a camera during the process.

My system is as follows:

The sovtware site (https://www.zwoastro.com/software/) shows .Net Framework 4.5.2 requires, but that won't install with a error of ".NET Framework 4.5.2 or a later update is already installed on this computer."

Any help would be appreciated.

Bring up the old "Control Panel" > "Programs and Features".
At the bottom of the program list there should be a ZWO_ASI_Cameras_driver_3.24 listed. If it is not there then the drivers were not installed. The installed driver file (ASICAMUSB3.sys) is located in "Windows" > "System32" > "drivers". I don't recalling the installation identifying cameras. It loads drivers for all of them.
Try this. If the drivers are listed in "Programs and Features",
a. Uninstall them.
b. Go to the installation file, right click on it, and bring up the Properties.
c. If there is a "Security" item at the bottom with an "Unblock" box, check that box, click "OK" and reinstall the drivers.
For .NET go to the upper left of "Program and Features" screen and click "Turn Windows features on or off". At the top of the list it should show .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.8. .NET 4.8 includes 4.5.2.

ZWO_ASI_Cameras_driver_3.24 was listed in the installed programs, but the driver, ASICAMUSB3.sys, was not present in the drivers folder. I did find the ASICAMUSB3.sys file in "C:\Program Files (x86)\ZWO Design\ZWO_USB_Cameras_driver\driver\x64" and in "C:\Program Files (x86)\ZWO Design\ZWO_USB_Cameras_driver\driver\x86"

Some of the 4.8 .Net features in WCF Services were not enabled. I enabled all of the .Net services on my computer and then rebooted and confirmed that they were active.

After that I reinstalled the program and checked Device Manager but with no change to the situation. Device Manager is showing "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" for all attached ZWO equipment.

Uninstall again and try running the installation using the "Run as administrator" option.

KitH Does your computer run any security software or antivirus program? uninstall the driver and exit these programs, and reinstall the driver to try again.

turn off the verification of the digital signature and try again.

He mentioned in his first post that he removed all security software, but that did not help. How do you turn off the verification of the digital signiture?

I turned off the driver verification using the "bcdedit /set nointegritychecks on" command and verified it with the "bcdedit" command.

I then rebooted the device, verified it again, turned off my security software (Norton 360) and tried installing the software again. Unfortunately, it was still unsuccessful.

Is there a manual method of installing these drivers available?

I ended up taking a drastic approach. Since this was a new computer, I flattened and rebuilt the system. The drivers successfully installed after I completed all the recommended Windows updates.

Wow that is drastic. Fortunately I did not have that issue with my MeLE. Hope you can get some imaging work down now,

There is a person who had an issue with his Overclock 4C. He contacted MeLE support and they pointed him to a Windows 11 OS version that better supports the Overclock 4C. Although I had no issue with the Windows 11 Pro version that I got, maybe it depends on where one gets their PC and what version of Windows it came with. One thing I noticed was that one of the Windows updates was repeatedly failing. In hindsight, that was possibly an indicator of a deeper problem with the OS. I had tried to repair Windows 11 without changing the symptoms.

For a relatively new computer and outside of the download, a flatten and rebuild seemed to be the faster solution. Luclily I have the bandwidth that it wasn't too painful.
