I have an HAE69C mount which connects to my ASIAIR Pro v2.1.2 using WiFi and the CEM120 driver.

I am unable to connect using a USB connection using any mount setting at any baud rate. I have tried several different USB cables and different ASIAIR ports (the latter work without problems with other devices).

I have successfully connected the same mount to a MeLe 3C running both iOptron Commander and SGP so the mount’s USB ports are fully functional.

What is the correct driver and baud rate to use in v2.1.2 or is there a missing driver?

In general iOptron mounts need to be connected to the USB-hub on a ZWO camera and not directly into the ASIAir. Have you tried that?

HTH, Wouter

Thanks Wouter. No, I haven't tried that but I'll test that config today.

Given that the camera's USB 3.0 connection goes back to the ASIAIR, I'd expect it to be transparent to the ASIAIR whether it was direct connect or via a hub.

I have also tried connecting the mount to my Pegasus Powerbox Advance which is USB 3 connected to the ASIAIR; that didn't work either.

I have used an iOptron HEA69C mount for about two months now on both ASIAIR and NINA. The mount operates with no issues on NINA and PHD using the ASCOM driver. It actually is a joy to use and guiding has been consistently in the 0.5 arc-sec range.

However, the ASIAIR support has issues and is not stable. Using the latest FW update the mount is not found on my ASIAIR Pro direct connect or using a powered USB hub. The mount does connect to the ASIAIR Plus at 115200 baud rate and selecting the CEM40/GEM45/HEA43 210101+ option.

This is not stable. The ASIAIR always connects but sometimes does not do guiding, it won’t complete a calibration and spins on the clearing backlash step. It requires a full power cycle to get it to work. You must have the mount cable connected and powered up before you power on the ASIAIR to have a reliable start up.

Once it is happy (usually at least one power cycle) it works fine and has the same guiding performance as found in PHD2 and NINA. It is a little qwerky as sometime it waits a couple of seconds before it moves the mount when commanding a goto. In NINA there is no delay. PHD2 calibrations are fast and complete with no issues. Last night the ASIAIR did complete a meridian flip with no issue, recalibrated guiding, and continued the auto run. I would not trust it for a complete unattended operation at this time. I need to test it a little more to have confidence.

When using the ASIAIR and SkySafari both connected it has considerable delays and slows down the response of the ASIAIR app to any button push commands and SkySafari is a little sluggish, If you disconnect SkySafari the ASIAIR app works fine.

Using, Carte du Ceil, PHD2, ASTAP, and NINA under ASCOM everything’s just works and is very reliable on start up and all night during the astrophotography session.

Thanks, Jason. Your experiences mirror mine with the exception that I had no success with the HAE43 210101 option - possibly a cable and or hub weirdness so will perhaps try again.

I'm in the process of trying to integrate with a Mele mini PC running SGP and PHD. If successful, not sure I'll switch back to the AAP as it is a bit of a grunt to (un)mounting and recabling.

Connecting the mount with its WiFI, I did run a full night of imaging. The one caveat is I had to manually meridian flip but frankly, that might have been a configuration error and me jumping the gun (and not letting it hit the configured time limit on the flip).

I use a Mele Quiet 3Q and since upgraded to a Mele Quite 4C. Both work great, the 4C is definitely faster loading software and doing the imaging functions in NINA, like debayer and Star HFR calculations.

Could you try cem70? if the problem remains, please submit a BUG report in the ASIAIR APP, we will analyze it as soon as possible, thank you.

      10 months later

Not before I switched to using a MeLe3C running SGP

Ioptron confirmed with me today snd shared images of the hae69c connecting to asi air via usb with no issues. This must no longer be a problem.
