Hello again. I’ve been trying to set the limits on my asi EAF but there is no movement at all, either in or out. I also want to set the backlash steps. I have set the steps within the focusser page in the app as 10, 200 and 6000 with the backlash at 0. I have watched various videos but I just cannot get the focusser to work. What am I doing wrong, I have changed cables and am trying to set things up on my Askar 80 phi telescope, anyone help please

Check the focuser mechanical lock of your rack-and-pinion or Crayford focuser. Make sure that it is completely loose. A few turns loose from the lock position.
The focuser lock of the Askar 80 really sticks out under the focuser, you can't miss it.
When you install an EAF, the best thing to do is to throw away the locking thumbscrew. You don't need it, and will reduce the possibility to mistakenly apply too much pressure on the EAF.
If you turn on the beep function of the EAF, you should hear a double beep if the focuser lock is keeping the EAF from moving. Any double beep is a sign of problem.

Thanks for that I replaced the screws that attach the long silver bar to the bottom of the focusser with shorter ones, then everything moved as it should. I had to take off the EAF and move the focus tube almost totally in, leaving a few mm’s, then I was able to extend the focuser a few mm’s short of fully extended.
