Filter wheel displacement

Hello everyone. I bought 2 zwo filter wheels, 7 places, mounted. This is my first time using filter wheels.
Im only using 3 slots. Filters are installed in slots 1,2,3. The remaining slots are free.
I found out that the wheels set right the chosen filter, but once the mount starts moving / slewing or after a while the wheel dont stand still and start displacing. Both wheels have the same problem. Am I doing something wrong or the wheels are the problem ?

Your camera angle adjuster could be sticking too far into the EFW, cause the EFW's bearings to become loose.

If so, try removing the CAA, or at least add some shims/stop rings, so that ithe CAA does not stick so deeply into the EFW, then go in to tighten the EFW bearing. There are three smal scres holding the EFW bearing (at center of the filters) make sure they are tight.

The EFW is very cheaply designed, and moves by friction only, between the bearing of the stepper motor and a large rubber O-ring that goes around the carousel of the EFW. Make sure the O-ring is properly seated.

Then, finally go to some ZWO program (like ASIStudio) and do a "calibrate" of the EFW. See if the fiters are centered, after that.

Lets hope you did not scratch the filter glass.

najarfermin Move the three filters to 1, 3, 5 position to keep the balance to see if the problem disappears.

Thanks Najar Fermin for bringing up this issue. I am using a ASI 2600M Pro with the same ZWO 2" 7-slot EFW, and I have had the same experience, especially when operating in the NINA ecosystem. It´s as if the EFW were acting on its own will. I am going to open up my EFW tomorrow and place the 4 LRGB filters more evening placed around the slots so as to avoid the possible balancing issue suggested by tech@ZWO.
