Last night, after weeks of rain, I tried the new release. I found it much improved from the previous version, but the thing that amazed me was the guidance, stable and precise, with my CGX. Congratulations.
P.S. All that's missing is the autofocus with the planets and we're at perfection

I'm using an AVX mount with a C8. I had two main issues in the last mainstream release and beta releases:

Manual slew, mainly DEC, would not stop for 5 seconds after finger removed from slew icon.
While guiding and using Live mode, a "mount disconnect" error would appear manually. Sometimes just getting guiding to run before imaging the error would occur.

On this latest 2.1.5 (11.08) release, when testing the manual slewing in DEC and RA I could not reproduce item 1.

I ran a Live mode stacking with saving frames, 60 sec exposures for 1 hour and was not able to reproduce the "mount disconnect" error. I will keep testing by running Live mode for 3 minute exposures for 2 hours. I was using EMMC and after the 2 hour test will test using a micro SD to store frames.

I've noticed over three nights using this release the PA routine doesn't work with my AVX mount.

PA starts by taking an initial photo.
Then it wants to slew 60 degrees and I click to continue
The mount starts the slew but the RA degree counter doesn't change, it remains at 0. About 1/2 the mount speed changes to a lower speed.
The mount seems to stop in the right place but ASIAir never takes the next photo. It hangs until you take action to Cancel.
I then switched to NINA and I encountered slewing issues in its polar alignment
I figured it was the mount.

The next night after setting up from scratch the ASIAir PA worked as normal.

This latest session, the third session with this release, ASIAir Polar Alignment problem ouccred. I switched over to NINA but didn't experience slewing issues when performing its polar alignment.

ZWO tech states the log shows the AVX never sends the RA/DEc coordinates back to ASIAir.

Last night I set up and before invoking PA I took a test image at the NCP and plated solved successfully. Then I slewed to the West at least 5 degrees away from NCP and took a test shot, plate solved and clicked on Sync Mount
Slewed to the East and took an image plate solve and Sync Mount. Then go to Home position. Check tracking is on then PA. It went though the PA without reproducing the problem.

When the scope is pointing to the NCP or within 5 degrees, ASIAir can't sync the mount with coordinates but it should know the current RA and Dec coordinates when you start up. Maybe it's just an AVX thing.

The good news is whatever happened between bet 2.1.4 and 2.1.5 my two bugs, one for long slews, primarily in DEC don't stop and mount disconnect errors when in Live mode and also guiding seem to have been fixed either by intent or by accident. I never see any release nots that show this fix. Hopefully the problems will not come back. I'm using the handset firmware that ends in 3175. You have to install CFM and run it to see the update available since Celestron doesn't show it in its firmware history, at least I can't find it.

SFj9LuNr I Had the same issue Saturday night first time using AA+ Took me three hours to PA. Had a few Mount Disconnected errors. Once PA was done went to go to a target, Mount didn't slew at all. it said it was slewing on my phone but it wasn't.

hyiger figures, my Redcat71 isn't even 2 weeks old, I kept have 30 second exposures with star trails after a good PA.

I haven't noticed this before but when I start guiding, I see a dialog that prompts me to allow ASIAir to change my mount speed to 1x. My AVX is at .9x. The last couple of session I have allowed the change.

Is this just for Celestron mounts or is this global? Wonder if anyone else has seen this.

First of all, thank you for your former comments in the forum, really useful for the Celestron mounts community.

Celestron mounts and ASIAIR aren't exactly the best match. To connect a CGX mount to an ASIAIR, you need to follow a precise process, or else the polar alignment (PA) can be a nightmare, if it works at all. Here is my process:

Turn on the CGX mount (without connecting the Nexstar+ to the ASIAIR).
Validate the time, the last alignment, and decrease the mount speed to 1.
Connect the Nexstar+ to the ASIAIR using a USB cable.
Turn on the ASIAIR.
Following this process has helped me avoid the issues you're experiencing.

ZWO... If you are listening... FILTER OFFSETS PLEASE!!! Turning off Autorun "Group by Slot" is useless unless there are filter offsets. I want to be able to take groups of each channel and repeat but the auto-focus on filter switch eats a lot of time.

ZWO get rid of the mandatory precise location permission. You have no need for this if users input their own coordinates, and the app should continue to function rather than force quitting.

Hi, I have problems with this version, since yesterday I tried to add several objects to the favorites list and then when I tried to log in to see them, the application resets and exits, having to log in again. Two questions: 1) why does this happen 2) How do I delete the favorites from that menu since the rest of the application seems to run without problems?

Hi,

It seems that the meridian flip is not working on my AVX mount since the last version (Android). When the meridian flip should be made, the mount moves but remains at the same position instead of inverting position of the OTA and counterweights. My settings are 1 minute before flip and 1 minute after. These settings were used for my astronomy sessions on May and the meridian flip was performed correctly (with Plan mode).

After months, last night we had clear skies and I wanted to take captures last night.

I got the mandatory update to 2.1.5, after that I started doing P.A. and I noticed something strange: the manual adjustments had to be done the other way around.
After that, the mount to fetch NGC3372 pointed at the ground.
Then I realized that the coordinates were wrong, so I proceeded to update them...
After that I performed P.A again. and the behavior was exactly the same.
Then I proceeded to perform a Firmware Reset, after which when I turned it on it was updated again to version 2.1.5....
I entered coordinates, performed P.A. and when searching for NGC3372, the mount was pointed at the ground.

When I put it in the "home" position, when I looked at the atlas I realized that it showed me as if it were pointing at Polaris...

Finally the 10º C of that hour got the better of me and I proceeded to put everything away....

My Location is Puente Alto, Santiago - Chile.

So last night was my first night with the new version 2.1.5.After I polar aligned,I sent the mount to NGC6888..solved,synced everything worked ok.Meridian flip was activated in autorun but it was due after 2 hours from the start.Mount is SA-GTI.

I noticed that guiding was very erratic..kept hovering from 0.8 to 1,2 even 3.Sky was clear,seeing perfect,no wind gusts.Guidescope was focused properly.I've used SA-GTI for about a year and my guiding was at most 1-1.1 the highest value.But this is not so important.(the guiding thing).I mentioned it because with version 2.1.0.74 didn't have this problem.
so ,after half and hour from the autorun started,suddenly I got the message that meridian flip was initiated but failed and to wait for the second meridian flip that also has failed.But the meridian flip was due to happen much later ,after an hour so I don't understand what happened.I had to stop autorun process ,go to home position and restart.Very weird.
-Also,when this happened my main camera appeared disconnected yet the cooler was still working.I managed to get some pictures nevertheless.
Luckily I'm on android so I reverted to the firmware that worked perfectly for me 2.1.0 .74

Hi all,

I've had relatively good success using the Celestron CGX with the ASIAIR Pro over the past few years, as long as I follow a specific process:

Start the mount, validate the position, time, and the last alignment, and decrease the speed to 1.
Connect the Nexstar+ to the ASIAIR Pro via USB.
Boot up the ASIAIR Pro.

However, after performing recent software updates, I encountered issues:

Updated the Nexstar+ App from version 4.1.360 to 5.35.3175.
Updated the CGX Motor Controller from 7.17.25 to 7.18.2214.
Updated the ASIAIR Pro to version 2.1.5.

During my test, I found it nearly impossible to polar align (PA) with the ASIAIR Pro (V2.1.5). The mount experienced "slewing issues" during PA. Initially, the plate solves quickly, and the ASIAIR Pro prompts a 60° rotation. The mount begins rotating, but the percentage indicator on the screen doesn't progress ("RA Axis rotated 0.0 degrees"). After a while, the mount stops (well beyond 60°), and the ASIAIR Pro displays "Rotation Stopped RA Axis rotation stopped..."

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution?

Celestron CGX users like sompi68 or SFj9LuNr, I've read your messages and would appreciate any additional tips or tricks. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

For ASIAIR support, maybe we should consider joining the beta testers for Celestron mounts, as we frequently face issues with each new software release.

LeBelAlbert Hi, I too have had problems in recent months. For a month now, I have not encountered any problems with polar alignment. I turn on asipro, turn on the mount, I press twice to do Position the mount, set the last alignment, after which I connect the mount with ASIPRO. Once this is done, I can align without problems.
