LA3QMA No, it does not autofocus after a goto, it never did. The confusion is that the only time the S50 now autofocuses is during the Horizontal Calibration phase, and even then, only if the option to autofocus is set. Many people are incorrectly assuming that this option means the S50 will autofocus after a goto as well, which it does not.
The real issue is a LOT of users want to go back to the way the S50 has always operated after a goto, which is to stop and await input from the user. ZWO apparently thinks users are too stupid to push the big red button to start imaging. 🙂
This new “feature” is even more infuriating as the LP Filter no longer auto-engages (how ironic) as it ALWAYS has so if an unsuspecting new user chooses a nebula that requires the LP Filter, it is not going to engage and they’re going to be very disappointed in the results.
