Evening all,
after getting my telescope out for the time in years I was pleased to see that there is finally an imaging programme which works with Mac's. I tested my ASI120MC-S camera about a week ago and it worked fine during the day when attempting to focus on distant trees and I also managed to capture some .AVI files so knew it worked. However, I've got it out this evening to attempt to capture Saturn and after aligning the scope and then attaching the camera, ASI Studio can see the camera but not connect (when pressing play) it just seems to freeze. It started by giving just a black screen and very low FPS but the more I tried to connect the lower the FPS and now no preview screen and not even a histogram (see attached screen grabs).
I'm using a MacBook Pro with an M2 chip so there's no problem with processing speeds and I've tried using oacapture (an old programme I used to use) and that can't find the camera either.
I'm hoping I just need to update the firmware on the camera but everything seems to be up to date.
