Andromeda Galaxy hardly fills 5% of my field of view

What is happening that in my Seestar S50 Andromeda Galaxy appears rather small in the field of view rather than overflowing the field of view which should happen.

When did you try to shoot Andromeda? During the period of full moon you won’t get very nice results. Did you have a really clear sky? No light pollution?

Bobby2 Hello. The problem wasn't how well the image looked but was how big the image is in the Seestar visual field of view. Andromeda Galaxy is about 3 times larger than the Seestar field of view but my image of Andromeda is small maybe only 5% of my available field of view.

Have you imaged M31 in your Seestar? Does it pretty much fill in your whole field of view and image? Please reply.

Can you provide screenshots of this to make your issue a bit more clear and understandable?

xfirf Here is the image I took which shows Andromeda as much smaller than the Seestar field of view of .6 arcmintimes by 1.3 or so arcminutes. The Andromeda Galaxy subtends a much bigger angle than the Seestar field of view. Yet in my image M 31 is much smaller which I cannot figure out.

I can’t get the photo uploaded here but the answer is: yes. M31 doesn’t even fit in the field of view. It’s too large.

Your photo is only showing the core portion of M31. There is much more not showing up on your capture. Compared to one of my photos, the core is about the same size. Go to the S50 Facebook group and search for M31. You'll see many photos....

Yes. You need more exposure time or less light around. Try longer or wait till full moon is gone.

Is there any chance the filter was accidentally engaged? If you look at the file for M31, it should have "IRCUT" (no filter). If the filter was in place the file will have "LP' in it.

Hi, the FOV of the Seestar S50 is 0.73 degrees x 1.29 degrees.
I saw your image and it is normal. It only shows the core area of M31 and not the cantilever detail, which may be due to more light pollution.
