Corsair Thanks for the info and suggestions. As a fairly new user, It prompted me to look into the settings and options in the App which I hadn't really done before. I' don't find any way to 'turn off' automatic updates in the App. I normally wound not have updated the firmware because non of the changes it listed were relevant to my equipment, -"if it ain't brioke, don't fix it." But apparently choice is not an option on the iOS versions. I may give the beta version a try, after I upload screen shots of what I get, although it doesn't really tell anything other than wifi "connected" and then wifi "disconnected" which I put in my earlier posts.
