Hello.
I've had my Seestar S50 for a few days now, I have some knowledge of astrophotography, and I understand the process of calibrating shots (dark, flat, bias frames), but the way the Seestar S50 calibrates the dark frames, which is done at the beginning of the session, is not enough, I keep getting hot pixels when I use the save every frame option, these frames have hot pixels. I understand that this is due to the change in temperature since the session starts and the sensor is heating up, but I don't see any option to recalibrate the dark frames. Can it only be done at the beginning of a session? That is, do I have to turn the telescope off and on for this?
Another problem I've found is in the tracking, after about 7-8 minutes, the stacking starts to fail, but if I stop the capture, and continue taking photos, then it starts to stack correctly. This should be improved, since I don't make any changes to the tracking by repositioning the telescope, something fails after a few minutes that prevents more shots from being stacked. Is this normal?
Finally, I have detected problems with the direct connection to the telescope via Wi-Fi. After a while (2-3 hours) my phone disconnects again and again every few minutes, the connection is no longer stable. It seems that by using an external power bank or power charger this problem goes away.
Despite these problems, I have enjoyed the Seestar S50 very much so far. It is difficult to set up my large equipment, and only during summer holidays, with the Seestar S50 I can do astrophotography every night when the sky is clear, which is wonderful.
