After my iPad auto installed v.2.2.2 on my ASIAIR Plus the direct wifi connection is very unstable (connection lost many times). Distance of 3 m. And personal settings got lost.

In Apple Settings, set the Apple setting, set OFF the automatic updates. Unfortunately, this applies for all APPS !
Then, go to ASIAIR / personal Settings and make a reset.
Then start everything new.
Now you can be review the updates before.

I just did that. After last update to my AA+ my guiding got wonky and ruined two nights of imaging. The Stellarmate learning curve is steep but I was already a little familiar with EKOS and Kstars. I plan to keep AA in the hopes they get their act together and put out solid updates. It will also serve as quick backup unit. It's a shame really because I really liked the simplicity and stability of my AA+ when I first got it.

I ran the new version last night and I was surprised that I had zero issues. It still has the dithering bug that shows the goto off target after 30 minutes or so, but no disconnects, issues and guiding was fair too.

Last night I forgot my Samsung A8 tablet which ran v2.2.2 11.30 fine, so I used my phone which was running the old version 2.1 software. I got a service unconnected error and could not use. When I returned home, I uploaded to latest software v2.2.2 the 9/29 release from ASI website and side-loaded onto my Galaxy S24 Ultra. I still get Service Unconnected issues and cannot connect to the ASIAIR Plus.

My thoughts are that my older V2.1 and the new V2.2.2 have the same error on the S24, but the TabA8 runs OK. This makes one also question firmware rather than just the V2.2.2 client. V1 worked on the S24 from what I recall before the recent firmware and V2.2.2 updates.

Any thoughts and ideas on how to fix this?

As an afterthought, I was wondering if there's a difference in security workflow between the A8 and S24 during connect. FTE is on the A8 and 5/4G on the S24 as well as wifi and BT.

WxMan you need to make sure you tell your device to stay connected to the ASIAIR WiFi otherwise it'll automatically switch back over to a network that has internet access.

So, on your device, go to WiFi settings and Forget the ASIAIR WiFi. Then restart (not shutdown) your device. Now, reconnect to the ASIAIR WiFi and when you see the prompt make sue choose to always stay connected.

It's possible you may need to turn off mobile data as well.

Also - the ASIAIR App on your device and the firmware on the ASIAIR itself are a matched set so they have to be the same.

That's why it is highly recommended to turn off App auto update on your device. Updating the app on your device is what causes the firmware on the ASIAIR to update.

Corsair yes, i always disconnect all other wifi networks before using asiair. I just keep my station mode wifi source available… no chance of it switching.

A week waiting for a new version, because 2.2.2 has ruined my asiair mini: it loses its factory WIFI name, or impossible to define a new WIFI name; everything is lost even before the next reboot. Of course, firmware reset done without solving this issue on both AA.
Also, guiding doesn't work on my AA+ ... since the v2.2.2.

A week waiting an answer from ZWO team on this threat ... but nothing !

I'm a network engineer, knowing what I'm doing about WIFI : sure there are no pb on my side.
But many pb since this crappy release.

ZWO, how can that situation be possible ? PLEASE do something serious now 🙏🏼

DDivoAstro There is NO possibility of defending the last two updates....bad! However, ZWO was on a national holiday until yesterday (as noted on their website/facebook page) so that at least explains their late replies.

Same issues as the others here. AsiAir mini is does no longer broadcast wifi, no Wifi connection, name and setting are not saved. AsiAir plus had an Autorun session and guiding was not running? So perhaps also guiding issues.

How did this pass any kind of test?

retman : it means they should never release a new version before their holidays ...
astrometrycs : the only way to connect to my AAmini is with an Ethernet adapter connected on one of USB ports; also, while it doesn't broadcast its WIFI hotspot, it still connects to my home WIFI via "home station".

I have been very pleased with the ASIAir Plus. However, after installing this firmware upgrade, my planetarium display will not allow me to change the default settings. As a result I have no grid lines. Every time I toggle the setting to turn on the grid lines, it resets to off. I tried deleting the app and completely reloading it to no avail.

minimoto71 I have tried with a different system ( INDIGOSky ) with the SynScan driver and it happens the same. So it's not an ASIAir related issue but an SW Star Adventurer GTi one. I will contact the reseller to get assistance as I can't find anyone with the same issue on internet.

We recommend that you try to roll back the firmware - uninstall the APP - download the latest software package in the APP store and upgrade the firmware; in addition, you can also try to connect the LAN port of ASIAIR to the LAN port on the home router.

Hello. We have reproduced the network connection problem and are trying to solve it .
For the current version, we have a temporary solution, reset wifi, unplug the cable to power off ASIAIR, plug in the cable to power ASIAIR again, and restart the APP. We have tried this solution in most cases and it can solve the problem. You can try it, thank you.

I inform you all that in Spain we have filed a joint complaint, with more than 100 signatures, against the company zwo, for violation of the free code and abuse. Apart from defrauding and deceiving customers with Asiair Plus, we are going to do everything possible to stop these people from selling their products in Europe.

Please ask your representatives to also investigate whether ZWO's USB 3.0 hardware is really compliant with industry standards.

ZWO sells their hardware as being USB compliant, but assumes that the customer themselves may need to test with a variety of cables, until the customer finds one in the goldilocks zone which matches ZWO's device. ZWO should not be allowed to label their products as being USB compliant if it does not work with cables and devices from other companies that are complaint.
