Hi,
I worked on this last night. Before my 6200 was repaired I now recall that I had similar problems and that I connected the 174 directly to a USB port on my computer. The 10' cable was still there. I did that and did not get the initial downloading error. I recall that when I got the 6200 back from your shop I said to myself maybe with the new board the USB functions will be OK, well they were for a couple months. I hope the new board is not going.
With all these problems I also replaced the 174.
The other problem is a similar issue with the EFW. This unit was also replaced with a new unit after I had it for 2.5 years. It worked OK using the new cable it came with to the 6200 USB 2 hub. I tried a new cable and tried the other USB hub on the 6200 but still had the same filter wheel problem. The problem is that after the initial set up the filter does not change. If I reconnect the 6200 after the initial set of images associated with focusing, the EFW works again.
These devices all work with your native drivers and ASI Image. I am trying to get them to work with Maxim DL and ACP both of which require the ASCOM drivers. Those folks note that when you run compliance software on your drivers they come up non compliant. I have another message on that.
I am assuming that your 6200 USB Hub is bad or going bad and am going to try the direct connection of the EFW to the computer and see if that resolves the problem. I will have to run a new cable for the 6200. I plan to run an expensive 3.0 powered cable to the 6200 just to hope the 6200 works OK.
If you look you will see I have replaced all my ZWO equipment in the past 3 years. My dealer is Woodland Hill, Farah.
