I think it would be an amazing feature if you could use your telescope in conjunction with anyone else on the planet who is viewing the same object as you are, giving you the ability to have a wide field array for taking photos.
It would work this way – Person A is in NY. They want to see the Orion Nebula. Person B is in Colorado, they also want to see the same object. Both telescopes would then be used to view the object, and the images would be used to create a single image.
You could have multiple telescopes allowed at the same time, allowing for greater detail of the object. I’m not sure how many, but you would have to make sure they were in the correct position and time. Such as blocking someone who was in China (daylight) from connecting to someone in NY (night).
As a social app, you could design it so that you could make a request in advance for viewing X object, then setup your telescope for viewing and then wait for someone else to want the same object. The app would then do all the work, connecting the telescopes to take the photo.
