Using ASIAIR at a remote observatory

Hello.
We are planning to use ASIAIR at a remote observatory.

Is it possible to have a VPN connection from my home to the observatory and an Ethernet connection from the VPN router to the ASIAIR?

Please let me know how to set it up.
We will use an emulator (bluestacks)

Its very simple if you know what to do.
You have 3 construction sites:

1: bring Asiair in your Local Web to work

2: Get a VPN Connection from where you want to be to the network with the Afiair

3: bring Bluestacks (or whatever emulator) to work and connect to the Asiair.

I did it with my stuff. I use a VPN Connection with my cellphone to my home network.
As that worked and i am a part of the network i can ping every device.
Thats the big thing.
Ib my router (Fritzbox) i managed to get the Asiair to get the same IP - thats is for me important! As my cellphone gets a Full iP Check from 0.0.0.0 to ... whatecer my cellphone never find my devices automaticly but they are ping-able.
So - when connectet over vpn to the network i can in the Asiair app instead of a search write the IP Adress and that works!

In your Emulator you have to activate a Network bridge so you can search in the Network!
In my case bluestacks never worked and i use Moavi, or somewhat. But same story. Install the .apk and than manage to integrate that App in the notwork. Bride mode.

Be sure to work step by step and get sure everything work as planed when you build that thing up as there are so many chances to fail and you need a structure what work and where a possible fault is.

Thanks for the reply.

I have connected AA+ via switch to my PC (win11) and it seems to recognize it but cannot connect.

Do you know the cause of this problem?

Its a bit less of informations.
So - the screenshot is a win11 -so you are in an emulation?

As i mentiod - its easyer to first bring it to life with the "normal" way, so with a iphone / android device and asiair app.
But anyway.

You nerd to test the connection. In windows open "cmd" and "ping" the ip adress of the Asiair.
You say connected to the pc via a swith.. switch or router? Some device will manage the network and give over DHCP the IP Adress.

If I can't get a wired connection to ASIAIR, I am planning to operate with a Wifi connection. However, wireless is unstable, so I am a little worried about using it in remote areas!

1.Connect with WIN11 emulator

Ethernet connection of ASIAIR to home LAN (wired)
Ping comes back.

Connection is not recognized by the emulator.

Please let me know if there is a solution.

What I am trying to achieve is a VPN connection from my home PC to the remote location and a wired connection from the remote router (FortiGate-40F) to ASIAIR with an Ethernet cable.

What I am trying to do is as an alternative (test), I want to connect a VPN from my home PC to a remote location, and then wire connect ASIAIR from the remote PC.

What I am trying now is to connect the ASIAIR to the LAN port of my home PC by wire and test the connection with the ASIAIR using an emulator, but it is not connected.

I also tried pinging but no response was returned.

What is Afiair? I searched the internet but could not find it.

I am sorry, but please tell me.

The PC used is WIN11

Should I turn off station mode when wired to ASIAIR?

I just switched from the router to the switch and the ping came back.

That could work but not remotely with a sim card. Unfortunately the majority of the companies (at least here in Spain) work under CGNAT so the IP is varying continuously. I solved it using a mini PC (my next step is to test NINA) and a mini router with a sim card. The mini pc is connected to the router vía ethernet cable. It rises connects to the Asiair via wifi. Using remote chrome desktop and an Android emulator works flawlessly.

SIRIUS8611 if you can ping the asiair but the emulator cant find the Asiair there must be a "Bridged" Lan Setup. You have to enable the Emulatet Network to be in the "real" network.
I dont use Bluestacks, so i cant help you with that point.
