• ASI Mount
  • AM3 meridian flip issues, Grinding noise, 2 beeps

ZWO support teams, and others -
I have an issue with my AM3 mount - The mount is not overloaded, my rig is well below the weight limit, Rig 10.7 lbs. total. While imaging in NINA, meridian sequence starts, the mount starts to move, but stops and makes a grinding noise and beeps twice. I have never had this issue till lately. I have upgraded the firmware since. However, I have not tried to recreate another meridian flip. However, last night, when I was taking my calibration frames Darks,Flats,Biases in NINA, when finished, I gave the mount the command in NINA to go to it's HOME position. Same thing happened as described above when meridian flip sequence failed, it stopped and made a grinding noise, and beeped twice. Eventually I was able to send the mount/scope back to it's home position.
Can anyone help or had this similar problem?
ZWO support team, please help.
Thanks
Roy

hello ZWO suppport, can you anyone plese comment on this msg post ?

I had those scary sounds too. Go to the mount settings and under Advanced Settings put the mount in Heavy Duty/Lo Temp Mode. Fixed it immediately.

Hope this helps

Mel

azskyguy Thanks for the feedback! I will certainly try that option. Funny thing is, I never had this problem until 2 weeks ago, It's like a gremlin slipped in and cause havoc ! I have gone into Advance settings several times, I don't recall seeing that feature. However, I will check it out.

Thanks again, nothing but crickets ZWO support..... guess they are about to start the Chinese New Year festivities

MIXON Hey Mel, just want to confirm that I'm not using the ASIAIR app. I'm using the ASI Mount ASCOM server app. on my laptop with Imaging software NINA.
I went into the app, under advance settings, I don't see the Heavy Duty/Lo Temp Mode option.

It's part of the ASIAIr app...

azskyguy I'm not using ASIAIR plateform, I'm using the ASI mount ASCOM plate form.
