I don't think the types of sensors used in telescopes have anywhere near the dynamic range to cope with a brilliantly lit white rocket at night. Even ultra high quality broadcast video cameras have difficulty once the engines ignite. You might have a better chance after ignition of getting the flame trail as the rocket ascends. But hey, give it try! It's cool that you can get close enough to see it. Good luck.
