Message: Please adjust the telescope position

After the firmware 4.0 update, (Seestar S50) I can no longer find any targets. I always get the message: "please adjust the telescope position if it is blocked. If the image is blurred, please focus first". The screen stays with this message for several minutes and then the system displays the message: "System Alert: Seestar failed to reconized the target. please try again". I can no longer use Seestar. Can I fix this problem?

Did you follow its instructions by manually focusing first? I've not yet installed this firmware, but perhaps your initial focus value (config parm in the Seestar app) is too "out of whack'. Manually focus on a star first (or use a bhatinov mask) and then use that focus value for this config parm. then retry .....

I get the same thing and for starters... there is no reason to say object is blocked when its not and second, if i want to focus i will focus. This is just a pain to have to click through. Please provide some better logic or at least explain why this pops up initially

same here with my brand new S50, very disappointing. Consider to give it back to dealer, just got it couple of days ago. And yes, I‘ve sent my logs through the app, very courious how long any response wil take. There is still some hope left, but you see me deeply frustrated

Mine is exactly the same issue. I received my S30 3 days ago and I am beginning to think that I have purchased a very expensive door stop. I have updated firmware from 4.0 to 4.2 and both are the same. The joke of a manual is no help at all, there is no troubleshooting section or how to calibrate the device. I did find out how to calibrate the compass by searching through all the menus.
The message says to focus the telescope first, but what am I to focus it on... the door stop cant find anything for me to carry out a focus. though I have tried using the autofocus, all it does is zoom in & out for 5 minutes then tell me that autofocus has failed.
I am a beginner and as this telescope is aimed at beginners it should just work out-of-the-box and it is very demoralizing when it doesn't. the trouble is that I dont know if the telescope is faulty of if I am doing something wrong.

I'm guessing but worth a check. Check your default initial focus value (Seestar App->Me->Focus->Star Focus POS Default. Manually focus on a star and use that focus value as a default. It messed up my S30 and was unable to find DSOs. Updating the value as described resolved that issue.

YMMV....

Also, the latest firmware level is 4.02, not 4.2. Avoids confusion in the future when people read this....

Probably this message is just a warning and appears for everyone. It appeared for me too, and there was no problem finding any object.

I am having the same issue. I was on the original Zwo pre buy and when we got the scope it was the best night of observing ever. The scope has never functioned properly since with the constant updating and now it won’t operate at all. Please offer us a solution or let us download previous software versions. The error we are getting is please adjust telescope position if it is blocked etc. This is infuriating.

is there anybody out there ?? was desperately waiting for a fix as SW 4.0 made things really bad. Now 4.0.2 installed, next to the manual compass adjustment, same message about blocking device blabla remains and no object can be found automatically. Think I kiss my money goodby and declare your Seestar S50 as not functional. I also believe, there will be no refund and in order to protect my time for other things, I'll throw it away ...
Frustrating, really. Good for you guys China is so far away from Germany.

Same btw for Moon, had to target manually.

Any quick fix or better to look for alternatives to Seestar ?

Sorry for the problem, are there some stars in stargazing on the screen when the Seestar point at the open sky? we appreciate if you could take a video to show me more details. thank you in advance.
BTW, what is the target you choose to goto when the problem appears?
