Hello. After the last version of the APP, I have unfortunately had to notice that there are satellite tracks on all the recordings from my S30, it is as :the function to delete images with satellite tracks no longer works.

Thx Jon for the tip, it works for me too, although I had to point the S50 with the logo and the on/off head away from me, so the other way around than in your photo. I live in the northern hemisphere and only have a clear view of the west.
Although it remains a bit awkward, hopefully there will be an update so that the S50 can easily be set to equatorial mode even without a clear view of the zenith.

There are lots of posts in the official ZWO Facebook group about “banding” effects showing up in EQ mode. Some call this thermal noise, some attribute it to light pollution effects, and some say that dithering is not being used in EQ mode or at least more dithering is needed. Some also say that flat frame calibration is needed (and an old post before EQ where ZWO support even mentioned that flat frames are coming).

It would help to have an official statement from ZWO on what is going on, what users can do to help compensate, and what ZWO is working on to address this. Thanks!

Support@Seestar What! it will not help anything against satellite tracks and try to move to another place since the satellites are everywhere at an altitude of about 400 km and up. What is wrong is that the routine to detect satellite tracks does not work correctly in S30. There are also satellite tracks on all the images in AZ mode.

Satellite trails appear on images when sunlight reflects on a satellite in the direction your camera is pointing. If the satellite is inside the Earth's shadow from the sun's light, you won't see any satellite tracks on your pictures, even if it flies over the area you are photographing.

landbo You can try to compare shots taken at different times, such as shooting late at night (a few hours after the sun has completely set) to see if there are still trails.
Did you turn on "Saved each frame"? You can choose to save a single shot, and then manually remove the frames with satellite trails and then perform post-processing.

Support@Seestar I have problems uploading pictures to your board.

There are always the most satellite tracks at times when the sun is relatively close to the horizon as the earth's shadow is the smallest in relation to the sky. But that doesn't help the routine that was supposed to remove satellite tracks from the pictures doesn't work on the new version of the SeeStar S30.

Yes I have saved all the frames but if there is enough space on the S30 it might be a problem.

I have bought an Astro photo robot to be free from stacking what comes on the "film" in my camera.

Support@Seestar I think it a software issue. The Atlas is AltAz and the Equatorial mode doesn’t recognize the map. The Framing mode will need more work in order to use it correctly in the EQ mode. Thank you all for the hard work. These comments are not complaints but just letting you know of issues we see you may not have experienced. Also found the Seestar will track across the Zenith in EQ mode but when selecting a target above 85° would not GoTo. I could manually slew it there and it was fine. Just my take. Have a great day!

landbo Sorry for the problem, but I can't open the link to your photo, but Seestar may have missed a few satellite images not deleted, but all there which may be a problem.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We will pass this on to the development team to see if we can add an EQ-compatible mode.
Regarding the issue of flipping over the zenith in equatorial mode, we are already analyzing this situation.
Thank you again for sharing these details, your feedback helps make Seestar better.

Support@Seestar Yes, I was probably aware of that, can't you delete the image addresses here from the board?

Yes, there is a problem in the software that is supposed to filter out frames with satellite tracks. I don't know if the problem is related to us here at 57N having the sun closer to the horizon than the developers probably have. I'd be happy to upload all my recordings (frames) if that would be helpful if you have an address.

New firmware today? What is new? Seestar apk version 2.4.1.

Hi. Just did the latest app/firmware updates. No problems in process, but too many clouds to test.

However, just spotted the tiniest bug ever. The firmware update instructions (after 100% loaded and installed) tell user to watch for blinking YELLOW light then solid YELLOW once done. However, in EQ mode, it goes to solid GREEN of course. So maybe detect current mode and update instructions to match ?

                  Cheers
